Town of Fort Myers Beach receives grant to restore tree canopy at Bay Oaks

The Town of Fort Myers Beach announced there will be 75 Royal Palm trees planted at Bay Oaks Recreational Campus, made possible through $37,500 in grant funding from the U.S. Forest Service, facilitated by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS).   This tree-planting initiative is part of a broader effort to restore Fort Myers Beach’s tree canopy, which suffered extensive damage during Hurricane Ian and subsequent storm events.
