Free rides from LeeTran on Monday

Lee County announced that its LeeTran transit system will be offering free rides on all fixed-route buses for Try Transit Day on Monday, April 20. In an announcement of the free Try Transit Day, county officials said the free bus rides are inspired by Earth Day, which takes place on Wednesday, April 22. Fort Myers Beach Lions Foundation accepting scholarship applications

The Fort Myers Beach Lions Foundation is now accepting applications for their 2026 "We Serve" scholarship awards. The foundation will be awarding 15 scholarships of $1,000 each to eligible students pursuing secondary education in specialized training or a college degree. All interested students are encouraged to apply. Judging criteria includes financial need, a solid past record of community service, and the willingness to help others.
