Property assessments up on Fort Myers Beach
Property assessments are up 12% for the current fiscal year in the Town of Fort Myers Beach per preliminary data released by the Lee County Property Appraiser's office. Total taxable property values went up 12.33% in part due to new construction, the rebuilding of homes and businesses on the island and market data compared to last year. That could mean higher taxes this year for Fort Myers Beach property owners. Bonita Fish Company is taking reservations for its newly-opened event room as renovations continue at the iconic restaurant spot formerly known as Bonita Bill's Waterfront Cafe in Fort Myers Beach. The San Carlos Island restaurant property owned by HM Restaurant Group has unveiled Bayside at Bonita Fish Company, a private indoor-outdoor event venue off Fisherman's Wharf.
