The Lee County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation this morning on Madison Court after a report early this morning of a shooting at a home on Fort Myers Beach. According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the shooting was not considered suspicious and there is no threat to the public. According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, there was a report of a shooting on Madison Court at about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. One person was pronounced dead inside a home in the 400 block of the street. The Major Crimes Unit was on the scene and investigating Sunday morning. No further details were immediately available from the Lee County's Office.
The Town of Fort Myers Beach will celebrate Florida Arbor Day with a ceremonial tree planting on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Bay Oaks Recreation Center.
