Firefighter injured battling blaze on Fort Myers Beach
Fort Myers Beach firefighters were able to contain and put out a blaze at a Fort Myers Beach house on Pearl Street Monday afternoon. The cause of the blaze was still being investigated Monday evening. The fire started at about 3:30 p.m., according to the Fort Myers Beach Fire Control District. Estero Boulevard was closed off in the area around Pearl Street and the DiamondHead Beach Resort after the fire broke out at the beachfront home. None of the occupants of the home were injured, Fort Myers Beach Fire Chief Scott Wirth said. One firefighter suffered a minor injury.
