Applications open for Southwest Florida Agriculture Exposition 4-H/FFA scholarships
The UF/IFAS Extension Lee County is accepting applications for the 2026 Southwest Florida Agriculture Exposition (SWFL Ag Expo) 4-H/FFA scholarships. These educational scholarships are available to senior youth participants, ages 14-18, who exhibited as livestock or creative living participants at the 2026 SWFL Ag Expo.
The scholarships aim to support young people pursuing educational goals, further emphasizing the commitment of the Lee Board of County Commissioners and UF/IFAS Extension Lee County to youth development and the future of agriculture in Southwest Florida.
The 2026 scholarship opportunities include:
SWFL 4-H/FFA Agricultural Expo Senior Scholarship ($1,000)
Open to any senior-division youth who exhibited at the 2026 SWFL Ag Expo.
SWFL 4-H/FFA Extension Food Systems Scholarship ($500)
Open to senior-division youth who exhibited a market swine or steer at the 2026 SWFL Ag Expo.
SWFL 4-H/FFA Leadership Scholarship ($500)
Open to any senior-division youth who exhibited at the 2026 SWFL Ag Expo.
SWFL 4-H/FFA Exemplary Citizenship Scholarship ($700)
Open to any senior-division youth who exhibited at the 2026 SWFL Ag Expo.
Mike Greenwell Graduating Senior Scholarship ($1,200) (newly named)
Open exclusively to graduating senior 4-H and FFA youth who participated in the 2026 SWFL Ag Expo.
The Mike Greenwell Graduating Senior Scholarship, formerly offered as a graduating senior award, has been renamed in memory of Lee County Commissioner Mike Greenwell in recognition of his long‑standing support of youth agriculture programs, education and the Southwest Florida Agricultural Exposition. The renamed scholarship reflects Commissioner Greenwell’s commitment to developing future leaders in agriculture and strengthening opportunities for youth across Lee County.
Applications are being accepted online. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. May 16.
