Fort Myers Beach issues warning regarding fraudulent invoices

The Town of Fort Myers Beach is advising the public to be award of fraudulent invoices being sent to individuals who have recently submitted Special Event Permit applications. If you receive a message that seems unusual, unexpected, or requests payment in a way that feels out of the ordinary, please use caution. The Town will never request payment via wire transfer, payment app, or other non-standard methods. Payment is only made through iWorq. Mound House to host virtual talk on bats

The Mound House will be holding a virtual discussion Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. with Mike Mills, a wildlife biologist at the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF). The 45-minute presentation, followed by a 15-minute Q&A, will highlight SCCF’s ongoing research on the bat populations of Pine Island Sound.
