Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach Powerboat Races sold
Roar Offshore Powerboat Races LLC announced the sale of Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach Powerboat Races to Shaun Torrente Racing and fellow offshore racer Cole Leibel of West Coast Secure Storage.
Founded by Tim and Cyndee Hill, Roar Offshore brought annual world-class offshore powerboat racing events to Fort Myers Beach before Hurricane Ian struck.
Roar Offshore served as the APBA Offshore National Championship.
“This has been a very special event for Cyndee and me,” said Tim Hill, co-founder of Roar Offshore. “Roar Offshore was built through years of hard work, relationships, community support, and a shared passion for offshore racing. With the growth of AME Automotive, extensive work travel, and our continued involvement with Fort Myers Offshore, we simply do not have the time required to give Roar Offshore the attention it deserves. Shaun Torrente and Cole Leibel are the right people to carry this forward.”
Shaun Torrente, founder of Shaun Torrente Racing, is joined in the acquisition by fellow racer Cole Leibel of West Coast Secure Storage, adding another experienced racer and business leader to the next chapter of the event.
“Shaun and Cole both understand racing, business, and the importance of protecting the reputation of an established event,” Hill added. “They have the credibility, experience, and passion to protect the Roar Offshore name while taking the event into its next chapter. That was very important to us. We are proud of Roar Offshore and excited to see where Shaun, Cole, and their team take it from here.”
Roar Offshore was founded by Tim and Cyndee Hill to bring additional exposure and recognition to the boating, recreational, and entertainment opportunities to Fort Myers Beach.
Shaun Torrente Racing was founded by world champion powerboat racer Shaun Torrente, a four-time F1 World Champion, XCAT World Champion, and one of the most accomplished racers in modern powerboat racing.
With Shaun Torrente Racing now involved in the future of Roar Offshore, the event enters its next chapter with championship-level experience, marine industry credibility, and a deep understanding of what it takes to compete and win on the water.
Cole Leibel is an offshore racer, business owner, and part of the new Roar Offshore ownership group. As owner and driver of BigEast Offshore Racing, Leibel competes in the Super Stock class and brings firsthand racing experience, performance boating passion, and industry connection to the future of Roar Offshore.
Leibel is also associated with West Coast Secure Storage, a premium secure storage facility in Palmetto, Florida, serving boat, RV, automotive, and collector vehicle owners.
His involvement adds additional racing experience, business leadership and marine industry perspective to the next chapter of Roar Offshore alongside Shaun Torrente Racing.
