Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club announces beerfest

The Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club announced they are bringing a new community event to the island this fall with the inaugural Sand & Suds Beerfest, set for Saturday, October 10 at the town’s Bay Oaks Recreational Campus park.

Sand & Suds will bring together craft beer, food, local vendors and live entertainment as part of an event to benefit the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club and its ongoing work in the community.

Among the breweries attending are eAnkrolab Brewing Co., Bone Hook Brewery, Green Bench Brewing Co., Florida Avenue Brewing Co., Islamorada Brewery, Labelle Brewing Co., and Riptide Brewing Company.

In addition to beer tastings, guests can grab a bite from participating food trucks, shop and visit with local vendors, and enjoy live entertainment throughout the event. Sand & Suds is designed to offer more than a traditional beer tasting, creating an afternoon where residents and visitors can gather, discover local businesses and enjoy everything that makes Fort Myers Beach unique.

Adding a uniquely Fort Myers Beach touch to the event, the Woman’s Club is partnering with the Fort Myers Beach Art Association to feature one-of-a-kind, hand-painted picnic tables created by local artists. The tables will be on display during Sand & Suds and auctioned off, giving guests an opportunity to take home a functional piece of local art while supporting the community.

“We wanted to create an event that was fun, approachable and felt like Fort Myers Beach,” said Megan Allers, Sand and Suds Co-Chair. “Sand & Suds gives people a chance to enjoy a great day on the island while also supporting the Woman’s Club and the work we continue to do throughout our community.”

Bay Oaks Recreational Campus is located at 2731 Oak Street on Fort Myers Beach.

The cost of tickets is $50 for general admission and $75 for VIP. Entry will begin at noon for VIP ticketholders and 1 p.m. for general admission.
