Fort Myers Beach Library to hold Town of Fort Myers Beach Council candidate forum

The Fort Myers Beach Library will host a forum on Tuesday with the four candidates seeking three seats on the Town of Fort Myers Beach Council.

The forum will take place on the third floor in the community room starting at 5:30 p.m. The library’s operations director, Lizbeth Mullanex, is currently slated to be the moderator.

The forum is scheduled to include all four candidates: Councilmember Rebecca Link, as well as former Mayor Anita Cereceda, Protect FMB President Tom Brady, and Fort Myers Beach Local Planning Agency member Ed Schoonover.

The four candidates are seeking three seats on the Town of Fort Myers Beach Council, which carry four-year terms.

There will be six set questions for the forum for each of the 3 candidates to respond to. During the session there will be index cards for attendees to write questions to be potentially presented to the candidates during the audience question and answer period.

There will be a limit based on the number of questions submitted and time remaining, Mullanex said. Mullanex said she has allotted 15 minutes for the public question and answer period.

The Fort Myers Beach Library is located at 2755 Estero Boulevard. Doors will open at 5 p.m.
