Beach Kids Foundation honors students with scholarships
The Beach Kids Foundation held their annual Scholarship Awards Dinner this past week by giving out
$28,000.00 in scholarships to students with ties to Fort Myers Beach.
More than 60 people attended the ceremony at the Comfort Hall of St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church on Fort Myers Beach, at a dinner catered by local chef Kevin Paridiso.
“This is one of our favorite events,” Beach Kids Foundation President Deborah Groll said. “It was a great night for families and students to greet each other and catch up. I am very proud of our students and love investing in their future. Many of the students are volunteers for our foundation.”
Among the school the schools the scholarship recipients are attending, are the Univ of Georgia School of Dentistry, Ave Maria Law School,
FSW RN nursing, Johns Hopkins Univ Bio Medical Engineering.
Ellie Bunting, President of the Estero Island Historical Society, was the guest speaker.
Two scholarships were presented by Fran Myers in honor of the late Tom Myers to
student Chloe Brown and another scholarship was presented by Gini Smith in honor of her mother Roxi Smith
to student Mallory Amos.
