Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation gives out $75K in awards
The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation recently held their end-of-season meeting and announced that $75,000 was given to the Estero Island Historic Society, Fort Myers Beach Art Association, Keep Lee County Beautiful, Bay Oaks Recreation, Ostego Bay Summer Camps, Friends of Lovers Key, Support for Sailing, The Mound House, Estero Bay Buddies, The FMB Chamber Water Foundation, and Beach Kids Foundation. In addition, scholarships were awarded to 21 college students with ties to the beach. The Foundation also continues to fund an endowment at Florida Southwestern State College that will provide scholarships.
“The Foundation is overwhelmed with gratitude for the support of both residents and businesses who generously support with both their time and donation,” the organization said in a prepared statement.
The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation is comprised of 50 individuals in the community. The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation seeks to empower members and the community by encouraging philanthropic endeavors to improve the quality of life in Fort Myers Beach.
