Bay Oaks Recreational Center temporarily closed due to electrical issue
The Town of Fort Myers Beach announced that the Bay Oaks Recreational Center is temporarily closed due to an internal electrical issue impacting the facility. Groundwater intrusion into electrical conduits has resulted in failures within the breaker systems, presenting a potential safety hazard, town officials stated in the announcement.
Town staff are actively coordinating with a licensed electrical contractor to assess the situation and implement a permanent corrective solution as expeditiously as possible, the town’s announcement stated.
