Coast Guard rescues boat off Fort Myers Beach
A Fort Myers Beach U.S. Coast Guard Station boat crew rescued three people on Sunday, about two miles off Fort Myers Beach, after their 26-foot vessel started taking on water.
The occupants of the catamaran were safely transferred to the Fort Myers Beach Coast Guard Station Pier with no injuries reported.
The boat crew responded at 12:15 p.m. after receiving a mayday. The U.S. Coast Guard was unable to declare what caused the boat to take on water. The Coast Guard did not release details regarding the origin of the boat.
