The Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced that Carlos Gonzalez was arrested for manslaughter for the shooting death of a person he said was his friend inside the home belonging to Gonzalez on Madison Court in Fort Myers Beach early this morning.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest this morning following an announcement earlier this morning that the department was conducting a death investigation at Madison Court after a report early this morning of a shooting in a home that occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived on the scene and rendered aid to the victim. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gonzalez, 59, was arrested for manslaughter and transported to the Lee County Jail.
