The anticipated replacement of Lynn Hall Memorial Park’s restroom facility is now on schedule to begin in January, with an estimated completion date of this summer.

The work was approved by a vote of the Lee County Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday to approve two construction contracts for Lynn Hall Memorial Park and Crescent Beach Family Park on Fort Myers Beach to repair damage from Hurricane Ian.

The work at Crescent Beach Family Park will involve some new additions that have involved back-and-forth discussions amongst commissioners and town staff on a change to the park, that will include the installation of shade structures, a picnic area and landscaped pedestrian path that would change the look of the current park. The park is currently made up entirely of sand and has long been a destination for beach volleyball and other recreational activities.

The county announced two separate contracts for the work at each park.

The commissioners voted to award a $6 million contract to Wright Construction Group for Lynn Hall Memorial Park which will involve:

• Replacing some ADA-accessible boardwalks, three 625-square-foot picnic shelters with grills

• Public parking

• Landscaping

• Lighting

• Signage

• Construction of a 4,114-square-foot elevated restroom building with an ADA platform lift

This project will be funded with FEMA funds, Regional Park impact fees and Tourist Development Taxes through the Beach and Shoreline Program. Construction is anticipated to begin February 2026, pending permit approvals, with estimated completion in early summer 2027.
