Two lanes now open for motorists crossing Matanzas Pass Bridge to Fort Myers Beach

The Florida Department of Transportation announced that the Matanzas Pass Bridge now has two lanes open for those heading onto Fort Myers Beach from San Carlos Boulevard. The bridge now has a right lane for those turning right off the bridge to Fifth Street and a left lane for those continuing onto Estero Boulevard when crossing onto the island.

The work by the Florida Department of Transportation is part of a larger project for the Matanzas Pass Bridge to widen the traffic lanes and bicycle/pedestrian lanes while also adding a stoplight at the four-way Main Street intersection for those traveling off San Carlos Boulevard onto the Matanzass Pass Bridge, those exiting the bridge, and traffic exiting off Main Street.
