Nervous Nellie’s to host Yappy Howl-O-Ween event on Tuesday
Nervous Nellie’s will hold its second annual Yappy Howl-O-Ween next Tuesday.
The family-friendly event set for Oct. 29 will run from 6 to 9 p.m. primarily on the back side of Nervous Nellie’s, facing the water.
“We loved doing it last year; it’s such a fun event for everyone involved. Plus there was so many cute little dog costumes that it was almost an adorable overload,” said Faiza Shariff, Nervous Nellie’s event coordinator.
The goal is also to have some adoptable pets come in from two of their sponsors – Doghouse Rescue Academy, and Gulf Coast Humane Society – so there will be lovable fur babies on hand looking for their new forever home.
“There aren’t enough pet friendly events on the Beach, being honest, so we want to try and give pet owners a place to come out and have a good time,” said Steven Hall, manager and marketing for Nervous Nellie’s.
Also sponsored by Tito’s Vodka, they’re expecting to put on a pretty impressive show with live music and food and drink specials all night.
“I just want people to know that Nervous Nellie’s is pet friendly 365 days a year, but this is a special event just for pet lovers,” Shariff said.
Best dog costume will win a free meal off of the dog menu for the year and its owner wins free wings and a pitcher of beer once a month for the year.
Carrie Fuller, a member of the staff at Nervous Nellie’s, was instrumental in getting Gulf Coast Humane Society involved.
“It’s very dear to my heart. I’ve worked with Gulf Coast Humane Society for years and they have the kind of passion for finding homes for all of these animals that is just inspiring,” Fuller said.
There is no registration needed, other than bringing the most adorable costumed dog you can to the party.
Nervous Nellie’s is at 1131 First St., Fort Myers Beach.
