Tickets on sale for ‘Tea By the Sea and Fashion Show’
Tickets are available for the annual Ostego Bay Foundation Marine Science Center Tea By The Sea and Fashion Show, which will feature beach wear from Ship Wreck Treasures.
President Joanne Semmer said the event has been held for 20 years.
“It’s just a lot of fun. We have a good time,” she said. “It’s more of a tradition.”
This year the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at 700 Fishermans Wharf. Tickets are $25 per person and reservations are required due to limited seating. To register call the Marine Science Center at (239) 765-8101, or email info@ostegobay.org.
The event will be decorated with antique cups, saucers and tea pots, which Semmer said is very pretty.
“It’s a very nice buffet lunch and tea,” she said. “We have people that come back year after year. A lot of local people too. It’s like seeing old friends.”
Alice, 95, a faithful volunteer every Saturday during season, has been named the “Queen of Tea” and will sit at the head table with her tiara.
Ship Wreck Treasures, has clothes for children through adults. Semmer said some of the clothes that you might think are for the younger generation, are very attractive on older women as well.
The event will also feature a 50/50 drawing and a Chinese auction.
