Doc Ford’s celebrates National Rum Day with prize baskets for customers
Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille marked National Rum Day on Aug. 16 with specialty Doc’s Coco XO mojitos and rum flights, serving nearly 200 drinks across its locations and awarding rum-themed prize baskets to three customers. Customers who ordered the mojito or a rum flight received raffle tickets for a prize basket featuring Mount Gay Rum and home bar accessories.
“National Rum Day is always a cause for celebration at Doc Ford’s,” said Joe Harrity, a partner with HM Restaurant Group, which manages Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille. “We appreciate Mount Gay Rum for helping us make this year’s celebration and giveaway especially memorable for our guests.”
The Doc’s Coco XO mojito artfully blends the smooth, oak-aged character of Mount Gay’s XO rum with fresh lime, mint and a touch of simple syrup, finished with creamy Coco Lopez and topped with sparkling soda. The result is a refreshing tropical twist on the classic mojito, balancing bright citrus, cool mint and rich coconut flavors. It pairs well with Doc Ford’s Caribbean Rim-inspired cuisine and signature Yucatán shrimp, hailed by The New York Times as a “vacation on a plate.”
National Rum Day raffle winners were the Ross family visiting from England, Sarah Hoag and Zoe Bailey. Each received a prize basket featuring a bottle of Mount Gay’s XO rum, a cocktail smoker set, rocks glasses, a glass pitcher, muddling stick and infuser.
As a rum bar, Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille highlights a variety of premium rums and rum-based cocktails – from classic rum punch to rum runners and Mai tais – and sippable aged rums from the Caribbean and South America, available in flights.
Beloved by locals and visitors alike as a spectacular seafood restaurant delivering a legendary guest experience, Doc Ford’s is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
