Annette’s Beach Book Nook to welcome local authors

2 min read

Annette’s Beach Book Nook will be hosting 30 independent authors this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to talk about and sell their novels at the Santini Marina Plaza book store on Fort Myers Beach.

“This event was started last year for my grand reopening,” said book store owner Annette Stillson.

Stillson said the event helps to showcase the local author community who she said were instrumental in helping her rebuild her store.

“Many donated  books and time and also helped spread the word,” Stillson said. “This year on Facebook I asked authors  to contacted me who might be interested in participating, some authors were here last year and I also have many new ones. I had such an overwhelming response that I could not include everybody, so the two author groups will be holding their own group signings Feb. 5 and March 19 at my store as well and some authors will be doing individual signings throughout the season. Those will all be showcased on my Facebook page.”

For the event there will be tables set up in the  breezeway in Santini Marina Plaza with the authors on hand displaying their books. There will be books from all genres, such as  women’s fiction, historical fiction, nonfiction and children’s books.

Inside the store there will be refreshments and  book-related door prizes.

“Also I have a special gift for all children who come,” Stillson said,

“Some of the authors I have coming are Fort Myers Beach resident Ellie Bunting with her book to benefit the Florida Historical Society “The Lost icons of Fort Myers Beach” and long-time resident Mary Tatarian who has written a variety of romance novels under the pen name Mariah Lynne.”

Other local authors include Monica Lynn, and children’s book author Kaisha Lewis.
