Royal Beach Club up for sale
Asking price is $28.35M for beachfront lot
The owners of Royal Beach Club, a timeshare community on a dreamy plot of beachfront land on Fort Myers Beach, had to make a tough choice after Hurricane Ian. They had to decide whether to rebuild from the devastating wreckage or move on and sell.
They chose the latter and after dropping their price recently, are currently asking for $28.35 million for a plot of land situated in one of the most idyllic locations on the island.
Just a few hops away from Lynn Hall Memorial Park and Times Square, their prime location is reflected in their asking price for their 1.72 acre parcel.
The lot is just down the road from the Best Western and Pink Shell Beach Resort hotels to the north, and less than half a mile from Margaritaville Beach Resort to the south.
Dr. Erin Harrel, co-owner of The Harlan Group, called the availability of the Royal Beach Club property to be “one of the most important redevelopment opportunities in Southwest Florida.”
On Nov. 22, the Royal Beach Club will be featured on National Dream TV for a segment on Fort Myers Beach and local hotspots Salty Sam’s Marina, Smokin’ Oyster Brewery, Snug Harbor Waterfront Restaurant, and Wahoo Willie’s.
Harrel, who is handling the sale for her real estate firm, said the segment on National Dream TV involving Royal Beach Club will also focus on Fort Myers Beach and its seven miles of beaches and multitude of restaurants, with a concentration on the boating lifestyle around the island.
“Royal Beach Club is a legacy investment,” Harrel said. “With the national attention it’s receiving, the timing couldn’t be better for the right buyer to step in.”
The 28 units at the Royal Beach Club property were demolished after the battering from Hurricane Ian.
Nestled in between the Bel Air Beach Club and the Edison Beach House, the property has 220 feet of direct Gulf frontage and direct beach access. Harrel said the access to the “pristine beach sand” is one of the property’s top selling points, along with its central location close to all of the happenings on Fort Myers Beach.
“It’s located so close to all the restaurants,” she said. “There are a lot of advantages to that location.”
Harrel, who has a doctorate in organizational development and leadership and who previously taught in higher education, said there has been interest from developers who are eyeing the property as a potential site for luxury condos or hotels.
She expects that whoever lands the coveted parcel, will be able to “add to the charm” of Fort Myers Beach.
“It has the potential to make an amazing new space on Fort Myers Beach,” Harrel said. “It is a rare property.”
“We are hoping that it generates either luxury condos or a hotel,” Harrel said. “It’s a phenomenal property, a legacy property that is not readily available.”
