33rd Annual American Sand Sculpting Championship announces winners from Master Solo Division Competition

The 33rd Annual American Sand Sculpting Championship presented by the Seminole Casino Hotel has announced the winners from the opening weekend solo division competition
The winners from the Master Sculptor Solo Division were:
- 1st Place John Gowdy “Soul Reunion It’s a Matter of Time”
- 2nd Place Maxim Gazendam “Architecture is Frozen Music” Goethe
- 3rd Place Delayne Corbett “LUVBUG”
- Sculptor’s Choice Maxim Gazendam “Architecture is Frozen Music” Goethe
The 16 completed Solo Division Sculptures will be on display at the event for the remaining 7 days with the Advanced Amateur and Doubles Division competitions taking place this week.
Guests are welcome to attend the Sand Sculpting event daily through Sunday, Dec. 1 from 1 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last entry at 4:30 p.m. This year’s things to do include:
Quick Sand Speed Sand Sculpting – An audience-participation show in which two sculptors go head-to-head for a ten-minute sculpting competition, sculpting a subject selected by the audience.

Kids Zone – An area where the kids can practice building their own sand sculptures as well as numerous kid’s activities.
Sand Sculpting Demonstrations and Lessons Learn the Tricks of Master Sculptors.
Sand Vendor Village More than 50 vendors from around the country will be offering a great selection of food, beverages, specialty retail and arts and crafts.
Sand Under the Stars Presented by ZOOM Tan come see the sculptures lit under the night sky on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 6 to 9 p.m., with live music. Ticket for this first-time experience are $5.
Daily event admission is just $8 with children 4 and under free. Both active and retired military veterans can attend the event any day and receive $2.00 off with military ID.
