The 11th annual Fort Myers Beach Putt & Pub raised more than $32,000, Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club Board member Dawn Thomas announced.

The event, organized by the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club, drew 240 golfers to various restaurants and businesses on Fort Myer Beach in January with nine nonprofits pairing up on unique putting holes.

“This year, we were fortunate to have generous sponsors who joined in giving back to our island nonprofits,” Thomas said. Those sponsors included the King Family Foundation and the law firm of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt.

“Our nonprofits and partnering restaurants really stepped up and made it a great year. Between our sponsorships, registration and business partnerships, we raised more than $32,000 for local non-profits. Due to the success of this year’s event, we were able to contribute three-times the projected donation amount to each charity involved.”
