Order in the COURT: Volleyball tournaments take off at Big Game

The Big Game Waterfront Grill, 2200 Main St., will begin hosting four-man co-ed volleyball tournaments, starting Thursday, Sept. 8. All levels of play are welcome to participate.
Leader of the tournaments Troy Hayes, who is also the head of the Fort Myers Beach Volleyball Club, is sure to point out there is still plenty of space available for those still thinking of joining.
If there are more than eight teams, the tournament will be split into levels, and will run Tuesday night league along with Thursdays.
“The Big Game courts are really great,” Troy said. “There are nets all around the court so we don’t have to go chasing the ball which is a huge plus, and there’s plenty of lighting for night games. Plus, there’s a server comes out to get our drink orders, and they often offer specials for the players on the courts. It’s great.”
During the upcoming tournament, one girl is required to be on the court at all times and teams can play two to four players on the court.
If you’re a single player without a team, don’t worry. Troy said he’ll team you up with a group that best suites your skill level.
Game times are 6 to 9 p.m. through Oct. 27. The entry fee $150 per team. You can sign up online at FMBVC.com under the “Events” page. If interested in joining, contact the volleyball club to send in your team name and players roster as soon as possible.
