Lee County Parks and Recreation and Calusa Ghost Tours will be offering two three-day Kids Kayaking Camp sessions this summer. Parents can sign their children up to explore different sections of the Blueway starting at Bowditch Point Park on Fort Myers Beach each morning.
Activities will include basic instruction, environmental awareness, water safety, paddling, hiking, swimming, crafts and games. Be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, bag lunch, water bottle and a sense of adventure. The camp is open to children ages 9 to 14.
Session One dates are June 23, 24, and 25 (Wednesday through Friday) and Session Two dates are July 7, 8, and 9. Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., traveling from and returning to Bowditch Point Park on Fort Myers Beach daily. Children must be registered prior to June 18.
The cost is $100 for each session, and all equipment is provided. Participants must pre-register at LeeParks.org or by calling 533-7440. Space is limited so don’t wait. For more information on this program or any other beach program, visit LeeParks.org, CalusaBlueway.com or call 463-3764.
