Volunteer to help out with the Florida Senior Games

1 min read

The 2008 Florida Senior Games will be held in Lee County and the City of Cape Coral, Dec. 6 through 14. This is the third consecutive year the games will be held in Southwest Florida and more than 2,000 senior athletes are expected to participate in nine days of competition. Volunteers play an important role in the Florida Senior Games State Championships. Each year, more than 200 volunteers play an integral part in organizing the games.

The Florida Sports Foundation and Lee County Parks and Recreation is currently seeking volunteers for a variety of jobs such as helping with registration and stuffing goodie bags. Volunteers will receive a volunteer T-shirt, goodie bag and an invitation to the “Celebration of Athletes,” a catered reception and event. Anyone interested in volunteering can log on to leeparks.org or flasports.org and download a volunteer application. Return applications to: Kathy Cahill: fax to 432-2030 or e-mail kcahill@leegov.com
