Construction
Soon a temporary stairs and ramp will be constructed. This will be used when the front regular entrance is closed. Cranes will be up as the expansion proceeds and we want to avoid any possibility of someone being hurt because a crane topples. The entrance on Bay Road, where the bay window is now, will allow coming and going away from any danger.
You may have noticed some landscape was removed. This is making room for foundation, underground utilities, storage reservoirs and cistern. Also to make room for the cistern, the shed in the back of the library has been removed.
We have long felt that our community has been eager for this expansion. From the many comments received, we recognize the enthusiasm and satisfaction in sync with that desire. Thank you for your support. If you haven’t yet made a contribution to the Building Expansion Fund, please consider doing so. Checks can be payable to the Beach Library Building Fund or gifts left in the donation box next to the model on display.
Artist of the Month
The Conference Room displays an array of works from Joni Hermansen. Bright colors and local scenes are front and center in Joni’s works. Enjoy both the variety and the touches Joni brings to the different mediums used for the scenes.
You can also see even more renditions of Joni’s applications in the display case on the second floor. There find coasters, mouse pads, small tiles, and key hooks.
Adorning the display case near the DVDs and new titles are jewelry creations from Marguerite Ranney. The jewelry speaks for itself as one savors the colors and shapes. Marguerite also offers jewelry making classes many months so check the schedule. Note that May 11 is already one of those classes.

You may recognize Lee Woodruff’s name as being a contributor on ABC’s Good Morning America.
