Activity Details

Make a special floral arrangement with a St. Patrick’s theme during the Floral class on March 16.

There are many options in painting on glass. Join Jackie Marth as she demonstrates options and possibilities on March 17.

If you spend a lot of time on the Internet, and are ready to explore the Invisible Web, newsgroups, etc., consider getting tips during the Searching Internet class on March 18.

Part of our Getting to Know Our World series, Jim Grueff will share his experience and insights in visiting Serbia (the Balkans) on March 21.

Eddie Foster will have many ideas to share relating to visiting our National Parks, with particular emphasis on Fire Island, on March 22.

Upcoming Activities

Ukrainian eggs are currently on display. You’re invited to explore the variations. During the past year some emu eggs were written in the traditional Ukrainian style and these are included. There’s also one swan egg in addition to a variety of ostrich, goose and chicken eggs. Demo of how the eggs are written is scheduled for March 23, at 1:30 p.m. Handouts will be prepared for those who pre-register.

On March 24 the people and customs of Chile are presented, highlighting that country in the am, and in the pm a session on Declutter- learning about the Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment.

Basic Drawing class on March 25, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Please pre-register and check the poster for more details on this wonderful opportunity. In the afternoon take in a session introducing acupuncture and what to expect.

Open House

Join us for a day of music, demonstrations, classes, contests, food and fun, even a treasure hunt for the kids! Our library open house on Saturday, March 26th offers something for everyone, including shopping for books, crafts, native plants, and the Friends’ Fabulous Franks. Here’s your chance to have fun while you learn, and to explore the exciting details of the library expansion project. Free cookie to the first 500 people. Don’t remember library hours? When we are closed, a recorder gives the hours on 765-8162 or on 765-8163. Except for holidays, we are open Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 to 5; and Saturday 9-1. We look forward to seeing you.
