Activity Details
Part of “Getting to Know Our World” series, consider presentations on Panama and Italy. Next week the Galapagos & The Amazon (Feb. 9) and Vietnam (Feb. 11) will be highlighted.
Pre-register for the Intro to Excel (Feb 4) and/or Introduction to Computers (Feb. 7) class.
Health concerns can be addressed during Reiki presentation on Feb. 3 or the Diabetes discussion on Feb. 8.
Knitters and needle crafters are encouraged to join the relaxing and active group that gathers on Feb. 2.

Spend time with local author Charles Sobczak as he focuses on the natural beauty of the islands on Feb 10.
Those who’d like to prepare a floral arrangement for Valentine’s, consider pre-registering for “Valentine Floral Arranging” on Feb. 10. Materials fee are $10.
Local photographer Linda Hicks and digital image editor Tom Hicks will share the basics of putting your pictures into a memorable DVD slideshow. Expect both to be stimulated by excellent photography as well as applying basics of using your own pictures to share with others.
Pre-register for “Writing the Stories of Your Life” on Feb. 14 for ideas and guidance in writing personal narratives.
Graphic Titles
Were you among those who as a child walked to the nearest grocery store to spend your allowance on a stack of comics? They were cheap and often there was enough change to buy a candy bar. While many of these small stores are no longer around, it seemed that comic book shops at least substituted for the comics racks. Publishers in recent years have looked to bookstores and libraries to fill the void. Expect to see more graphic titles in our collection. For now, go to subject in the catalog and type in graphic. That will give you an immediate listing of 100 available titles. We have already noticed that some boys are reading more than they usually did so there is no generation gap when it comes to comics.
Library Hours
Don’t remember library hours? When we are closed, a recorder gives the hours of operation, either on 765-8162 or on 765-8163. Except for holidays, we are open Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 to 5; and Saturday 9 to 1. We look forward to seeing you.
