Expansion

Continuing from last week: One of the values to more space is that it becomes easier to accommodate the ways people like to read and study in an atmosphere where they can hear talking in the background or the sound of a keyboard, or for others that there be no noise. Some like a more private area, some love the mulling among people. We will have quiet areas, designated areas near browsing places to allow immediate viewing and/or reading of titles, a special area called the Living Room concentrating on newspapers and magazines, and two rooms for small group study.

C S Lewis

For many years C S Lewis has been a favorite author for inspiration. His works continue to draw readers. Many of us are likely familiar with his “The Complete Chronicles of Narnia” (J LEW). For Lewis, one of the best ways to know a person was to know what they read. He was convinced that books defined us and shaped our character and, in many ways, prepare us for the crises we encounter in our lives.

Consider “Branches to Heaven: the geniuses of C S Lewis” (823.912 COM) and “C.S. Lewis: memories and reflections” (921 LEW). If you search under author Lewis you’ll discover many other titles. We are adding to our collection the “C.S. Lewis Chronicles” by Duriez and “Beyond the Wardrobe,” written by Lewis.

Library Hours

Don’t remember library hours? When we are closed, a recorder gives the hours on 765-8162 or on 765-8163. Except for holidays, we are open Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 to 5, and Saturday 9-1. We look forward to seeing you.
