Giant book sale Saturday, Jan. 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the back of the library.

Florida History via the Everglades, Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 10:30 a.m.

Writer’s Class with Corinne Thwing also on Tuesday at 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.

Book Sale

The special book sale on Saturday is a perfect opportunity to find those unexpected treasures. Tables will be set up outside in the back of the library and titles have been sorted so your search should be easier to locate areas you may be particularly interested in. Prices fit the bargain category so you can focus on locating those interesting finds.

Activities

Author Charles LeBuff will highlight the Everglades Wildlife Barons on Feb 1. It will be interesting to look at this history of Florida after WWII and prior to the creation of big-name theme and adventure parks. Bring a friend.

Upcoming Activity Details

Those who spend a lot of time on the Net and ready to refine search skills can pre-register for the “Skills for Internet Searching-Intermediate Level” on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 1:30 p.m. Traffic is getting slower so please plan in advance and only sign for the class if you’re going to be there, as seating is limited.

Eager for tips in preparing your own federal tax return? Then participate in the session on Feb 3 at 10:30 a.m. that discusses ins and outs to understand and prepare your own federal 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ.

Expanding Self Healing Awareness with particular emphasis on Reiki healing energy will find Carol Kushkin provides insights on Feb. 3, at 1:30 p.m.

Panama is the focus for the presentation by Alta Whipple on this southernmost country of South America on Feb. 4, at 1:30 p.m.

Busy

Thank you for your patience. We are busy and appreciate your consideration for others using the library as well as staff who are fully occupied. We added 304 new print and 77 new audiovisual titles during December so feel free to browse and also discover some earlier overlooked titles.

Library Hours

Don’t remember library hours? Call for information. When we are closed, a recorder gives the hours of operation, either on 765-8162, or on 765-8163. Except for holidays, which would be mentioned on the recorder, we are open Monday and Wednesday from 9-8, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9-5, and Saturday 9-1. We look forward to seeing you.
