There’s a lot happening in crafting this week. Knitters and needle crafters can gather Wednesday evening. Group attendance has been growing the past few months so one can surmise that fun is being had in addition to progress made on projects.

December 7 finds the morning enjoying the direction of Dawn Gibson who will offer assistance in creating a hand stamped ornament and in understanding the techniques that lend themselves to painting on many different objects. Pre-register and $3 materials fee.

The afternoon on Dec. 7 highlights florist Lorrie Wolf who will demonstrate and offer ideas so each participant can create a holiday floral arrangement. Pre-register and $10 materials fee.

Signing Up

Please try to sign as far in advance as you can for the various presentations, seminars and classes. This helps those who are presenting to have adequate supplies and a pleasant pace in planning.

Upcoming Activities

Jewelry Making to create a necklace or bracelet is available Dec. 8. Pre-register and $10 materials fee.

Betsy Clayton has been paddling the waterways of southwest Florida for the past 15 years and will be here on Dec. 9 to share tips on enjoying the best of kayaking.

Those who are writing and want tips on fiction writing from a published author can join Flame LaMothe on Dec. 14. The session will focus on how she came to write as well as how she created the characters and book thread of her “Living in Paradise.”

Thanks

We’ve received many affirming comments in recent weeks and appreciate both your taking the time to say so and to make that silent support more visible. Visitors and homeowner snowbirds bring experience from another community and that comparison has given us ideas and encouragement.

Browsing

The books on the shelves want you to look at them. If, after reading one briefly or deciding not to check it out, feel free to leave it on a table nearby or at the front desk. A book replaced out of order can become be a book ‘lost’ until staff or volunteers have time to check that shelf.

Library Hours

Don’t remember library hours? When we are closed, a recorder gives the hours of operation, either on 765-8162 or on 765-8163. Except for holidays, we are open Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 to 5; and Saturday 9 to 1. We look forward to seeing you.
