Orchid & Poetry Next Week
Thursday, April 1 offers two interesting activities: (1) Orchid Care and Maintenance presentation at 10:30 a.m. facilitated by Anna Busch of Marilyn’s Exotic Orchid nursery; (2) a celebration of National Poetry Month at 1:30 p.m. This festive time will find local poets Doris Kovach and Harry Whipple sharing their works as well as Jeff Gibson and Corinne Thwing talking about and reading excerpts from U.S. poets. This celebration is likely to be particularly dear to poetry enthusiasts and importantly could well be a changing experience for those who on first reaction don’t care for poetry. Come and bring along a friend.
Beach History, Upcoming
Each year we find that there is great interest in having local residents and historians relate insights into the Beach history. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, April 6 at 10:30 a.m. to participate in “Delve into Beach History” offered by longtime resident and historian Jean Gottlieb. Afterward the presentation, there will be available a keepsake edition of “Coconuts & Coquinas” for those who’d like a well-written history-only $12.
Special for Families
Chip Withrow, acoustic performer, brings his interactive music program to this special time for children and families. The high-spirited performance will start at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7.
Architects
The architects are actively working on our construction details. We are also thinking of many details to be assured every possibility is considered. The schematic designs (where the walls go and location for each activity) are 100 percent complete. We are on schedule for construction to start in September.
