Beach author shares details on new novel at Beach library

Weekly Activities

Preschool Story Hour starts at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27. As usual, a few stories are shared followed by a craft activity.

Thursday, Jan. 28, at 10:30 a.m. Cristina Denegre will offer a up-close view of Estero Bay estuary and its basic biology and ecology. When we understand the local land features, one realizes how much there is to appreciate and preserve.

Also on Jan. 28, at 1:30 p.m., a computer class will be devoted to specific questions posed. Pre-register and include question or concern to be addressed.

Friday, January 29, at 10:30 a.m., a visual program by Dr. Jaffin will highlight the elements used by artists and what this contributes to our understanding of the Passion, Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Voter registration is available in the lobby on Monday, Feb. 1 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. You can complete the registration on-site or make changes or get advise regarding this important privilege in our democracy.

Monday, Feb. 1, at 1:30 p.m., Dr. Holinski shares his interest in the end times via a visual presentation of what the Old Art Masters tell us about the end times, Armageddon or rapture.

At 6 p.m. on Feb. 1 join with other scrapbookers to continue work on a project or get started on one. Facilitators Angie and Carole will help to share ideas too.

Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 10:30 a.m. welcomes Susan and Larry Bales as they share some of their discoveries and delight in a safara in Kenya. This African nation presentation is part of our “Getting to Know Our World” series.

Local author, Mary Tatarian is here on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 1:30 p.m. to share her novel “Seabliss” along with details about the adventure of writing and living in paradise.

Upcoming Details

The calendar for the month of February is available at the front desk. Posters for each of the monthly events is also displayed on the bulletin board near the front entrance. There’s a lot to consider so looking over the month’s activities early can help in your planning.

Check into computer classes scheduled for Feb. 3 (Making Computer Use Easier) and 5 (Word Processing). Pre-register.

Knitters gather Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m.

John Bennett shares his journey with photography on Feb. 4. The photos are breath-taking as his interest in this enterprise has been active from childhood.

Beach vegetation and sand dunes get attention on Feb. 4.

Jewelry making class on Feb. 5. Pre-register. Two classes are scheduled his month-this one early in the month, and a second one later in the month on Feb. 26.

Don’t remember library hours? When we are closed, a recorder gives the hours of operation, either on 765-8162 or on 765-8163. Except for holidays, we are open Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 9 to 1. We look forward to seeing you.
