Holiday Decorating

We had the pleasure of having the library decorated for the holidays, courtesy of the Estero Island Garden Club. They’ve followed a few holiday decorating tips that yield limited stress and a lot of fun. First, they planned ahead. One can tell from the decorations that thought and care has gone into the process. Second, they didn’t stop at the entryway but have let the holiday dcor radiate through the library. Third, as a Club they’ve involved a lot of members in the activity. Just as in our families, it’s wonderful if the holiday decorating is done by the family, for the holidays, after all, are about making memories and the more involved everyone is the more memorable and joyous this time will be.

Thanks to the Club members for the poinsettias in the outside planters, for the decorations on the tree in the foyer, for the many wreaths and angels throughout the library, for the village display on the second floor, and for the special garland hangs made specifically for under the railing so it doesn’t affect anyone going up or down the steps. Those members who stored materials in their homes throughout the year and those who put many touches into the color coordination, the spirit, and the quiet elegance of the decorations deserve our hearty “you’ve done well! Thanks.”

Friends

The Friends of the Beach Library, under whose umbrella the bookstore is run, welcome new members. If you’re a library user consider being part of this group to team up with others to advance library services. The Friends serve an integral part in supporting our goals.

An application is available at the front desk. Check out their ‘holiday gift paks’ available just inside the front entrance. There are adult titles, children’s treasures, large print, audio books, and assorted surprises.

Library Hours

Don’t remember library hours? Call for information. When we are closed, a recorder gives the hours of operation, either on 765-8162 or on 765-8163. Except for holidays, which would be mentioned on the recorder, we are open Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We look forward to seeing you.
