Wax that chin

Dear Krissy,

I’m growing closer to middle age and have noticed more and more little hairs have been popping up on my chin. I’ve been tweezing, but I miss many of the hairs because of my poor sight (I suppose another middle-age gift)! I’ve been considering waxing, but afraid because I’ve heard that it will just grow back thicker and darker. Is this true?

Dear Sarah,

Waxing is the way to go! It gets rid of all the hairs in no time and, the great thing is, the more you wax, the less it grows back!

Nail-nipper

I’m a nail biter and I need help! Is there something I can use to help stop biting my nails? All I want is to be able to grow a little nail that looks manicured.

Dear Lisa,

There are so many products on the market that work great for nail-biters. We prefer products by Jessica nail treatments, but many seem to work well. A regular manicure is also helpful, due to the fact that if there are no rough edges or stray cuticles, there will be less biting temptation.

Wedding woes

I’m getting married in the summer, but lately I have been getting cold feet. I don’t know if this is normal or if it means something, but I’d like to start finalizing my plans, such as hair, makeup, etc. I’m worried if I change my mind on the wedding itself, I’ll still be responsible for my salon services. What are the typical cancellation policies?

Dear Cold Feet,

I’m sorry to hear about your wedding hesitation, but most salons are very fair, depending on the size of your wedding party. Usually, most salons have only a 24-hour cancellation policy. But, the sooner you can give your salon notice, the better, so they have more time to rebook the time slots. I would say to go ahead and schedule your appointment.
