Meeting potential Council candidate was a pleasure

I had the pleasure of meeting potential Town Council candidate Jim Atterholt and his wife Brenda, just prior to his very informative interview on “Beach Talk Radio,” Saturday, Oct. 12. (Be sure to listen to the interview if you have not already done so!) To say the least, I was completely blown away by his qualifications in his Letter to the Editor last week. Jim Atterholt is currently serving on the LPA, but while living in Indiana, he served on the state legislature, as insurance commissioner, chair of the utility regulatory commission and also as chief of staff to the Indiana governor. I wondered if it is too good to be true, to have a gentleman of this caliber and experience serving here in paradise! I contacted a friend who leads the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and he described Jim Atterholt as a servant- hearted leader who empowers people, celebrates the different talents of others, a deal maker, a true friend, a person of honor and is pragmatic. He also stated Jim Atterholt has a high emotional intelligence and makes everything and everyone around him better. What a wonderful addition Jim Atterholt would be to the current Fort Myers Beach Town Council!
