Decision to drop challenge good news for the Beach

It is with great relief that I can announce that Mrs. Chris Patton has voluntarily withdrawn one of her legal challenges to the Town Council’s approval of the Margarittaville Resort project.
The Town Council and Town staff and legal team have always felt certain that we did everything possible to follow the language and intent of the Comprehensive Plan during that approval process. Although we are still awaiting the Judge’s decision on the remaining claim against the Town, we are confident that it will be resolved in the Town’s favor and within weeks there will be complete closure on this issue.
Our thanks to Mrs. Patton for ending this very difficult period in our Town’s history. It is my greatest hope that we can now all work together to make the next chapter in our Town’s history the best it can be.
