I want to thank our Beach community for the FMB Community Foundation Scholarship Award.
Thank you for the scholarship. The award will be used in helping me pay my tuition at Florida Gulf Coast University. The award also is of value to me as it comes from the Foundation of Fort Myers Beach Community. Fort Myers Beach is my community, my home town!

The Biennial Leadership Conference, hosted by the Community Resources Advisory Board, was an unqualified success. It was off to a great start when Mom’s restaurant donated its famous cinnamon rolls followed by a warm welcome and introduction by our Honorable Mayor Cereceda. The morning included informative speeches by leaders of the Town and a very informative presentation by the dynamic Fire Chief Love. Yo Taco helped fuel the participants with a taco bar for a full afternoon of tours around the island. Friday started with a hearty breakfast provided by The Salty Crab followed by Advisory Committee Chairs, an engaging Lieutenant Bryan Pererra, and leaders of some Island non-profits. A mediocre presentation on Estero Island Ecology brought us to a welcome break with Wave of Vitality shakes and sandwiches, and another afternoon of tours. Thanks for the presenters for taking their time to talk to us, Town staff setting up, cleaning up, transport and providing tours. Thanks to the businesses that fed us, Beach Baptist for keeping us caffeinated, Terry Cain for the tours of county parks, fellow CRAB members, and our attentive and competent Town Liaison Christy Cory. Special thanks to the participants who took their time to learn about all our town and how they can have a positive influence on our Town and make life better for all of us, and to all of the current volunteers that make our Town tick.
