Tail wagging the dog
To the editor:
An open letter to Lee County Commissioner Larry Kiker:
After the most recent meeting between “staff” and the residents of San Carlos Island, it has come to my attention that we have a problem of the tail wagging the dog.
Who exactly is “staff”? Who elected them to decide what should and should not happen on San Carlos Island?
You, Commissioner Kiker, are our elected official not “staff.” Please listen to our voices and do not allow “staff” to dictate the outcome of the envisioned Marina Village concept. We have always been, historically, a fishing village not a place for high rises and such.
Also, please follow up on your promise that the trees at our “Park and Ride” facility are replaced. Your “staff” cut down two oak trees and one sable palm tree.
Also, please move the Park and Ride sign to its appropriate place on the corner of Main Street and San Carlos Boulevard and not in front of the local strip club.
