Locals support Boback
To the editor:
Many of us locals are disgusted by the mean-spirited, manipulative, untrue attack mailers against Dennis Boback. It is so concerning that one person/group would spend money to divide our awesome small community and make accusations against a man who has unselfishly worked for our town for so many years both on and off council.
When Dennis and I were elected in 2016, the town was in debt over $3 million dollars due to mismanagement of our money.
We made immediate changes to fix that.
Neighborhood docks were torn down, we fixed that.
An inadequate storm-water ordinance was adopted, we fixed that.
When an over-sized development was proposed for our town, as a council we worked hard to approve a plan that was a better fit, and approved it 5-0!
When a code to charge high fees for right-of-way parking was adopted, putting mom-and- pop shops out of business, we fixed that!
Dennis negotiated the land exchange for a gateway to Bay Oaks from Estero Boulevard.
With Dennis on council, we kept our millage rate at .87 the past two years and we are in great financial shape with money in reserves.
With Dennis on council, we were able to fix the Bay Oaks pools, install a new heater/chiller, new gym floor, new lighting, new AC, and new equipment.
There is just so much Dennis has done for the citizens over the past three years, plus his time on council before that, as well as his community volunteering, like running the Fourth of July Parade.
He is fiscally responsible and he can balance residents and businesses well.
It was Dennis who was elected after the Hurricane Charley fiasco that kept residents away from their homes for five days.
He made changes so that won’t happen again.
Dennis cares about each individual neighborhood, and always makes the best choice possible when given all the facts from our professional staff, consultants, and the public.
Thank you for your support during my term on council, its been an honor to be the first beach kid to be beach mayor.
I will always be here if any of you need me.
I have chosen to be a private citizen again come March 18, and fully support Dennis Boback to watch my residential interests and my money!
