Stop crazy spending
To the Editor:
A citizen of Fort Myers Beach wrote a great and truthful letter last week.
I feel that we Citizens of this town should have some say in how our town is being run by our elected council. The Town Manager and Public Works Director should have to answer to someone on making decisions that affect our spending.
When I attended a meeting some time ago I asked why we have 80 to 90 employees on this small Island and Bonita has 55 t0 59 employees? One of our council members said that maybe they out source them and she does not know that (meaning me).
Why can’t we outsource on this small island. We have too many newer vehicles and employees. It is costing us gas money and benefits. I was told we have to wait for a new budget. Maybe we need to have another meeting and let the town people decide.
Most people that I have spoken to agree. We did not become a town to go crazy spending our money.
I don’t agree that we should be responsible for 80 percent of storm water project cost.
