Taxpayer money shouldn’t be spent on airplane study
To the editor:
How terrible, terrible for the Town of Fort Myers Beach to spend $25,000 of our taxpayers’ money to hire someone to study airplane noise.
The residents of Fort Myers Beach put up with the noise of lawnmowers, leaf blowers, tree trimmers,
early morning trash pickup, etc.,etc.,etc.
To elaborate further, as a retired farmer, I raised hogs. Why? Because they were mortgage lifters. In other words, they brought in money for producers to pay debt.
As I see it, it’s the same way with airplanes noise. Every airplane that lands at RSW is bringing many
dollars to Lee County and Fort Myers Beach.
My main reason for writing is, to those of you who complain about the noise, let us put the safety of
those people first. I am someone who likes the airplane noise.
