Bay Oaks fields go through lighting trial

To the editor:

Last week, Fort Myers Beach Little League and Soccer Club officials met with the town and discussed field lighting at Bay Oaks fields. Our thoughts were to ask the town to leave the lights on for community to use the fields at night. We think this would encourage more families to use the park.

This is a small town without a lot of space for children to have places to play. This will allow families a safe place.

So, for the next 30 days, the town has graciously decided to turn the lights on every night for a trial basis. Please feel free to come down and enjoy the park. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 898-2874. Thanks to the town for considering this important issue.
