River Kidz West Coast Youth Eco Art platform emerges
To the editor:
This past weekend at the Alliance of the Arts, there was an educational event held in regard to the needs for clean water ways locally and for all of Florida. With all of the events grand success, there was also something special that occurred during the clean water event.
The River Kidz West Coast Eco Arts platform had its kick off party there on Saturday as well. The idea is to get local youth involved in ecology and to express their concerns for our water ways (that are in peril) through artistic expression. Many children of all ages took park in crafting awesome artwork while at the event on site.
During my speech, I introduced them to hundreds of supporters in the crowd and brought them all on stage to receive a standing ovation for their efforts to being the future generation of good stewards to our environment. I am proud of our local youth who took part in the action for clean water. I also look forward to seeing the River Kidz West Coast come to light right here on Fort Myers Beach through the town and Bay Oaks Recreational Campus for plans to hold a special summer camp based on ecology and the arts for awareness, while being the protection of our natural resources and Eco system.
Our kids deserve to have this chance to be involved in our community while standing up for it at the same time. The River Kidz who took part in the Eco Art action this past weekend at the clean water education event did do just that. Art creates community and community creates a sense of speaking up for it when it needs to be heard and seen when in any form of troubles. Our waters are not well, and our children understand this fact. They now have an outlet to speak to that fact ad they do it through their own artwork.
Support the River Kidz concept and check us out on Facebook. Search (The River Kidz West Coast) and join the page to keep informed of our up and coming events in the name of youthful Eco awareness and art as its form of expression. Again, I would love to thank all those who took part in the fun and to those future River Kidz who we will see at the next Eco Art event.
