Youth sports president against trash facility near fields

To the editor:

Fort Myers Beach Little League and Fort Myers Beach Soccer Club are joining forces to ask the Town of Fort Myers Beach officials to permanently remove the garbage containers located in our parking lot.

Our boards strongly feels that these containers pose a safety and health concern for all of those who use the park.

We are asking everyone who feels this is not the place to have a Town Trash Transfer Facility to speak up. Please come to the next Town Council meeting on Dec. 16, at 6:30 pm, at the Town Hall and support our groups in asking for the removal of all these containers from our community recreation center. If you cannot attend the meeting please email town council members to address your concerns.
