Extend trolley service

1 min read

To the editor:

This is in response to Barb Hill’s letter.

If your goal is to keep people on the island, then why not charge them a substantial fee if they try to leave? I suggest at least $10 a person or $25 a carload.

Here’s a novel idea to improve our traffic problem. Why don’t we improve the trolley system? More people would use the system if it ran more frequently, regularly and until at least 10 p.m. to accommodate restaurant patrons.

I know, the transit system will not consider adding more trolleys or extending the hours of service until there are more riders, and there will not be more riders unless/until there are more trolleys, extended hours and more frequent service!

Oh well…
