Leadership conference receives accolades

To the editor:

I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the Town of Fort Myers Beach and the Community Resources Advisory Board for presenting the 2013 Leadership Conference.

Miffie Greer, Josh Overmyer and many others must have done a great deal of planning and work in order to have such a successful two-day presentation. I must also convey my gratitude to the two dozen speakers. We heard helpful information from a variety of very informative presenters, from government officials to community volunteers.

The attendees were also treated to field trips to our great local attractions and resources: the Mound House, our parks, school and library. I learned more about our town in two days than I had learned since 1987 when I first came to Fort Myers Beach.

And now, after having time to reflect on all of this info, I know how lucky I am to have chosen this great community as my home. I am prouder than ever to tell folks I live on Fort Myers Beach.
