Beach cleaned, thanks to those who pitched in

Many thanks to all who turned out Saturday to support Coastal Cleanup.
Young people from Lexington School, Beach Elementary and Edison State brought their energy, enthusiasm and commitment to keeping our Lee County beaches beautiful. Support from the community was impressive as well, as families came out to fill a bag of trash and enjoy our island.
Perhaps the best news was the universal feeling that our beaches are cleaner than ever. During this busy winter, it has become a common sight to see beach walkers picking up trash as they exercise or stroll the shore. What a wonderful community where we all pitch in to preserve this precious gift!
